If you want  to build IOCDS (Input Output Configuration Data Set)   by HMC (Hardware Management Console) first of all you have to Sign in OS 2 WARP. Then go to  Start  IBM Primary Support Element  by pressing Single object operations from CPC Configuration  option  in  TASK LIST of operations. If you wish  to see which  I/O Configuration  (IOCDS A0) is active,  go to I/O Configuration function (A0/new(last created on 16.01.2010) – A3/old/+VSE/LPAR  + D0/Diagnose configurations are listed) – then you will see that A0  from 16.01.2010 is active.  To operate with any  I/O configuration (IOCDS),  position the desired configuration and  process within  the TASK LIST. Different  function options exist for the choosen  I/O configuration (IOCDS).  You may write a new A0 configuration generated by HMC only if  “Disable write protection “ function option for  the selected  configuration is activated.

To create a  new A0 configuration from I/O Configuration file ZB_1001 for  A0/new(16.01.2010-without VSE LPAR) prepared on diskette,  you have to put the diskette on the diskette  drive of HMC/PC IBM  NetVista/ Pentium 4 and copy the configuration as A0. To view or edit the active  A0 configuration you have to “Disable write protection”, to “Disassemble data set”,  then “Open source file”  and and save it.  Enter “Build data”  function to create  IOCDS  as A0 and exit to finish operations.

The following steps bellow describe the operations in detail.

 

             1. HMC started

–  Start of OS 2 WARP  on IBM  NetVista/ Pentium 4

–  Sign on:

SYSPROG

PASSWORD

 

            2. Start of  IBM Primary Support Element

– Position and mark CPC – then choose  and mark BACKZ800

– Position and mark – Single object operations to enter IBM Primary Support Element (using right mouse button and  TASK  LIST  – or  if necessary –  GROUPS to change CPC/IMAGES
) .

 

            3. From TASK LIST of operations in IBM Primary Support Element – choose  CPC Configuration menu – then I/O Configuration function (A0/new(16.01.2010) – A3/old/VSE  + D0/Diagnose configurations are listed)  and position the desired configuration A0 ( A2 is production at 7KM – Z800IO08 from 12.01.2005) with name Z800IO48 from 05.02.2009.

 

             4.   Options functions

– Enable write protection

– Disable write protection

– Copy Configuration

– Open source file

– Import source file

– Export source file

– Delete  source file

– Build data

– Disassemble data set

– Print Disassembled data set

Exit

 

              5. To write or view/edit   the  new A0 configuration generated by HMC or TSO/JES JOB

Options functions:

– Disable write protection

 

              6. To create the new A0 configuration from I/O Configuration file ZB_1001 for A0/new(16.01.2010-without VSE) prepared on diskette perform the following functions:

– Import  source file – put the diskette with the new prepared/edited I/O Configuration file ZB_1001 for A0/new(16.01.2010-without VSE) – on the drive of HMC/PC IBM  NetVista/ Pentium 4

– Copy Configuration (file ZB_1001 ) – copy complete as A0

– Open source file  A0  and save it

– Build data – as A0

– Exit

IOCDS A0 is built.

 

            7. To view or edit A0 configuration

Options functions:

– Disable write protection

– Disassemble data set (the current Production I/O Configuration is destroyed – require POR and IPL)

– Open source file – view and edit

 

             8. Enable write protection on A0 before IPL

Options functions:

– Enable  write protection

Exit

 

             9. IPL with the   old A3 configuration or the the new A0  (with POR used before)

If necessary From TASK LIST: Choose –  Daily – then – Activate/Deactivate

CPC Recovery – then Load – and IPL is performed  as usual.
